Leatrice "Letty" Weiner passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 98.
Letty was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Rose Levene, her sister, Rita Moses, her first husband, Louis Alexander, and her second husband, Irving Weiner.
Born in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, Letty was the daughter of Emil and Rose Levene and a proud graduate of Temple University. She married her beloved sweetheart, Louis Alexander, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and devotion, welcoming their daughter, Jill.
In 1975, Letty and Louis relocated from Philadelphia to Albuquerque, where Jill and her husband, Richard Wexler, were raising their daughter Samantha and newborn son Jason. Later came their second daughter, Rachel, all of whom cherished their time with their beloved "Mom-Mom".
Letty was a devoted and joyful grandmother, creating treasured memories during sleepovers filled with laughter, canned Spaghetti-O's, and as many desserts as the grandchildren could wish for. Her warmth and generosity made her home a place of comfort and delight. She was also blessed with the love and admiration of four great-grandchildren-Jake, Sophia, Samuel, and Alexander-and was truly the quintessential matriarch of the family.
Following the passing of her beloved Louis, Letty filled her days with dear friendships, travel, and her enduring role as a loving grandmother. She later found love again with Irving Weiner, and they shared 13 happy years of marriage until his passing in 2008.
As time went on, Letty relied on her dear friend Rose for trips to the doctor, the grocery store, housekeeping, and cherished companionship. In her final years, her devoted friend Shlomit was constantly by her side as caregiver, cook, chauffeur, and best friend.
Along with the support of the Hospice staff tending to Letty, there was the addition of the most wonderful team of ladies who were with her around the clock; Marietta, Lisa, Liezl, Alee, Jolina and Shlomit all became her extended family. They are truly angels on earth, and our family will always be deeply grateful for their love and compassion.
Letty-our cherished Mom-Mom-was a constant beacon of love and light. Her wit, wisdom, and gentle spirit will continue to shine through all who knew her. We are deeply blessed to have been part of her remarkable life journey, and she will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.
