Lawrence Frank Bennett

Lawrence (Larry) F. Bennett, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 79.

Larry was born Sunday, March 19, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. He moved with his parents to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he attended Sandia High School. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years. Upon completion of his service he met and married his wife Dottie, of 56 years. Together they raised their two children, Christopher and Sandra. He worked at EG&G while attending the University of Albuquerque where he majored in Business and graduated with honors in 1973. In 1976, he owned a small auto parts store until his employment with Sandia National Laboratories in 1979, where he worked until his retirement in 2011.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lillian Bennett; and his son Christopher Bennett Whyte.

Larry is survived by his wife Dottie Bennett; daughter Sandra (John) Garcia; son in law, David Stewart Whyte; granddaughter Amanda (Cyrus) O'Haver; great-grandchildren Matthew, Bishop, Josué, Rey; and his grandson John (Tabitha) Garcia; great-grandchildren Kasey, Ryot, and Augustus.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH-Lomas with a reception to immediately follow. Following the reception Larry will be laid to rest in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
