Albuquerque

Services for Laura A. (Pulice) Brunt, 91, of Albuquerque, NM, will at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at French Funerals, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 16, 2024, at her home after a brief illness.

Laura was born Oct. 8, 1932, in Morenci, AZ, to Placido John Pulice and Laura A. (Aguirre) Pulice, and grew up in Carlsbad, NM, where, after graduating in 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Charlie W. Brunt, on May 1,1950, in Carlsbad. The couple moved to Albuquerque in 1964 and celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary before Charlie passed away on May 23, 2008.

Laura worked for BlueCross BlueShield and retired in 1990 after many years of service. She later worked at New Mexico One Call, directing contractors and do-it-yourselfers where NOT to dig.

Laura and Charlie enjoyed bowling, playing golf, camping, boating and water skiing - pastimes they often enjoyed with their four kids and two grandsons. They also loved dancing to country and western music, especially tunes by Hank Thompson, Floyd Cramer, David Houston, Charlie Rich, Johnny Lee and Charlie Pride.

Laura was a past president of the Gamma Delta chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority, where she had been a member for more than six decades. In all her endeavors, Laura made many lifelong friends and made it a point to stay in touch with them often. She greatly enjoyed her weekly games of Mexican Train dominoes and biweekly games of Rummikub with friends and family.

She was a lifelong Catholic and a longtime member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, which is just around the corner from her home.

Laura's survivors include: daughter Nancy C. Glisch; son Charles D. Brunt and daughter-in-law Janette Meerscheidt Brunt; son J. Kelly Brunt; daughter Robin A. Brunt, all of Albuquerque; grandson David C. Glisch and his partner Martin A. Chavez of Tome, NM; and grandson J. Cory Brunt of Carlsbad, NM. She is also survived by her brother, John Pulice and sister-in-law Burhma (Love) Pulice of Fort Worth, TX; her sister, Mary P. Covington and brother-in-law Robert "Cotton" Covington of Ridgecrest, CA. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and various folks she treated like family. Her brother, Dennis H.
