Larry Lee Woodcock, 83, of Tijeras, New Mexico was reunited with his beloved wife Melissa on
August 22nd 2026, and together will conƟnue their spiritual journey. Larry was born on March
10th 1943 in Fremont, Nebraska to David and Lillie Woodcock (Petersen) and grew up on the
family farm. Larry graduated from Fremont Senior High in 1960 and joined the US Navy. He
served as a Gunners Mate on the USS Montrose and upon discharge worked as a mason and
carpenter while aƩending the University of Nebraska, New Mexico InsƟtute of Mining and
Technology, and New Mexico State University (NMSU). It was at NMSU that Larry met Melissa
Nilchee and together they created a quiet secluded life in the mountains of New Mexico for
nearly 50 years.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents David and Lillie. He is survived by his sister Emily
Smith and husband David of Lincoln Nebraska, brother Rodney Woodcock and wife Colleen
Kelley of Tucson Arizona, along with 3 nieces, 1 great-niece, and 4 great-nephews.
