LARRY LEE COTTON, was born Monday, July 5, 1943 in Knoxville, Tennessee. His parents were Lincoln Cotton of Baton Rouge, LA and Hazel Shiplet Cotton of Porter, NM.
Larry spent most of his life in Rio Rancho, NM. He joined the Navy in 1961 during the Vietnam War and served onboard the USS Kitty Hawk. Later in life, he was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars serving time as President of the Association.
During his life Larry worked many aspects of construction from apprentice to foreman. He loved everything western from movies to his horse. He was a member of the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Posse.
One of Larry’s favorite friends was his Brittany Tuffy. For 17 years they were inseparable, walking the desert or bird hunting.
Larry will be missed by his family, friends, and his home caretakers. We are very thankful for La Vitz Bella Home Care, Compasses and the VA Hospice for their love and kindness.
Larry will be interred in his family crypt in Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque. There are no plans for services at this time.
