Funeral Service
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Bandelier Ward
10:30 - 11:30 am (Mountain time)
Lane Seitter Sego, 73, passed away peacefully at home with his family on February 7, 2026 from melanoma. He was born in Alamosa, Colorado to Raymond Starlin Sego and Frances Lois (Seitter) Sego on November 7, 1952, the fifth of six children. He was the loving husband of Rhonda Lynn (Leath) Sego for 52 years and the affectionate father of seven children: Landon (wife Heidi), Abraham (wife Erin), Delane (husband David), Lorilynn (husband Michael), Sarah (husband Andrew), Polly (husband Nathan) and Anna (husband Chad). He was the proud grandfather of 27 grandchildren, 17 girls and 10 boys, and the great-grandfather of two little boys with two great-granddaughters on the way. He was a successful entrepreneur who lived by the motto he taught his children: "We work before we play-and when we work, we deserve to play." His family was his utmost priority in life, and he was always thinking of something fun and grand to do with them. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as bishop of the Paradise Hills Ward for seven years and Stake President of the Albuquerque West Stake for almost 10 years. He had a generous heart, a very engaging personality, and many friends. He loved life, worked hard, and made every moment count. If you came to visit him, upon leaving he would share this sentiment: "Don't let anyone be mean to you. Remember, if you're not welcome there--and 'there' can be anywhere--you're always welcome here." His funeral will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, 10:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4500 7 Bar Loop Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114.
