Obituary for Lam Van Nguyen Jr.
January 27, 1978 to March 21, 2026
Lam Van Nguyen Jr., 48, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on March 21, 2026.
His life cannot be measured in years alone, but in the depth of his faith, the strength of his love, and the countless lives he touched.
Lam was, above all, a man of God and a devoted Christian. He loved the Lord with his whole heart, and that love was evident in the way he lived each day. His faith was not something he spoke of occasionally, it was something he carried in his spirit, something you could feel in his presence. He lived with kindness and a quiet strength that reflected Christ in the most genuine way.
Lam was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Graciela Flores, the love of his life and his true partner in every sense. Their bond was built on unwavering faith, deep respect, and a love that only grew stronger with time. Through every joy and every trial, they walked side by side, grounded in a love that was steady, selfless, and enduring. He cherished her deeply, and in her, he found both peace and strength. Their marriage reflected a love rooted in faith. Unshaken, enduring, and eternal.
He was a proud and devoted father to his four daughters, Victoria Nguyen, Mariah Nguyen (who rests in heaven), Savannah Nguyen, and Allyanna Nguyen. Each of his daughters held a special place in his heart, and he loved them with a depth only a father could give.
He also opened his heart fully to his stepchildren, Diego Flores, Jorge Flores, and Gabriela Flores, embracing them as his own. To Lam, there was no distinction, only love. In Diego, he did not just see a stepson, but a son. Lam helped raise him, guide him, and stand beside him through life, building a bond rooted in trust and unwavering presence. Their relationship was not defined by titles, but by the life they shared. Diego carries his legacy, reflecting the same strength and love that Lam so selflessly gave.
Lam is also survived by his three cherished grandchildren, Padiah, Uriah, and Shalamah, who carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and faith.
He was a deeply cherished son to his mother, Rose Nguyen Buford, and his father, Lam Nguyen Sr., and a loving presence to his stepparents, Mat Nguyen and Steven Buford. He was a devoted and protective brother to his beloved sister, Evelyn Nguyen. He is further survived by his step siblings Matthew Buford, Steven Buford Jr., Lillian Tran, Christina Tran, and Toan Tran, along with his nephew, Angelo Arellano. He held his family, extended family, friends, and coworkers close to his heart, carrying each relationship with sincerity and care. In return, he was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lam found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments, traveling, enjoying good food, spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and most of all, bringing people together. He loved to host, to laugh, and to create spaces where everyone felt welcomed and valued. He didn't just spend time with people, he invested in them.
What made Lam truly extraordinary was his character. He was never judgmental, always choosing to see the good in others. He gave grace, understanding, and kindness freely, meeting people where they were with compassion and sincerity.
Though our hearts are broken, we hold onto the promise that Lam is now at peace, resting in the presence of the Lord he loved so dearly, free from pain and surrounded by eternal joy.
Lam Nguyen Jr. was more than a husband, a father, a son, or a brother.
He was a light.
A man of faith.
A man who made this world better simply by being in it.
Though he is no longer with us in the way we wish he could be, his love endures, in the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the family he cherished.
Lam's life was a blessing.
And his legacy... is LOVE. 🤍🕊️
