Kimberly Louise
Dapson
October 4, 1970 — August 3, 2026
Saturday
Immanuel Lutheran Church
1:00 - 2:00 pm (Mountain time)
Kimberly Dapson was born October 4, 1970, to parents Phillip D. Reed and Jeri Martinov in South Bend, Indiana.
She spent most of her life in Albuquerque, where she grew up an Albuquerque High Bulldog, class of '88, before going on to graduate from the University of New Mexico.
She began her career in the US Attorney's Office before spending 32 years at the US District Federal Court as a Courtroom Deputy, supporting the Magistrate Judge case management team. It was here where she developed her court family - providing exemplary support to court staff, judges, attorneys, and agents from many federal law enforcement agencies, and making fast friends through her welcoming (and, when necessary, commanding) personality. The court family grew to trust in Kim's knowledge and compassion.
On August 6, 1994, she married the love of her life, Robert Dapson. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters - Michelle, Ashley, and Kaitlynn - and their daughter Jasmine, who came into the family in high school and never left, one of Kim and Robert's girls in every way that mattered. To know Kim meant that at some point, you were mothered and loved by her.
She loved Disney and decorating for Christmas, and she loved all of her people fiercely - she was kind, funny, endlessly warm, and always had a smile on her face. She could not, under any circumstances, pump her own gas - though she secretly loved that everyone was always so willing to do it for her.
Kim leaves behind her husband, Robert; her daughters Michelle Dapson and fiancé Matt Bacon, Ashley Padilla and husband Chris, Kaitlynn Dapson, and Jasmine Goodson and husband Jeff, along with their new baby, Rowan. Her mother, Jeri Martinov. Her sisters Laura Harrison; Frances Rowland; Chandler Marshall and her husband Grant and two children; and Leia Reed. Her brothers William Rowland and wife Rebecca and their children, and Jett Reed and wife Lexie. And her close family friends, the Johnstons and the Donnellys.
Kim will be welcomed to heaven by her father, Phillip; her mother-in-law, Dee; countless grandparents; her aunt Susan; and both her schnauzer boys, Gus and Louis Dapson Jr. the 3rd (he was the only). She will be forever missed and cherished by all who loved her.
In honor of Kim's pure joy for all things Disney, guests are happily encouraged to wear Disney shirts, ears, and Loungeflys to the service and reception as we celebrate her love and her life.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Albuquerque, located at 300 Gold Ave SE.
