Ken Wegman passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on February 14, 1937, to Nick and Ida Wegman in Pine Island, MN.
Ken graduated from Pine Island High School in 1955 and served in the Navy from 1959-63 where he was stationed in the Philippines. Ken married Ann Ganyo on June 10, 1964, in Warroad, MN. They resided in San Jose, CA and Dodge Center, MN where they raised their two children. He owned a landscaping company in San Jose and Ken's Tire and Skelly Service in Dodge Center. He also worked at McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing and worked in security at Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque, NM where he retired in 2004. Ann passed away in September of 2015. Ken married Lola Blackwell on June 10, 2017.
Ken was a member of Community Lutheran Church in San Jose and Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center. He volunteered for the Rio Grande Food Project, Lions Club and Meals on Wheels and Albuquerque Public School. He taught Sunday School at Faith Lutheran Church.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Ann Wegman, and siblings, Alice Zimmerman, Arleen Stafford, and Robert Wegman. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Carl) Clingman and Susan Wegman, and grandchildren, Sophia Wenland, Noelle Langworthy and Daniel Langworthy.
Ken enjoyed old/antique/brass cars, riverboat cruises, and travel.
A family gathering was held on Friday, October 31st., 2025. Burial will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Inhora Hospice House, Meals on Wheels, or the Rio Grande Food Project, all in Albuquerque, NM.
