Listen to Obituary

Ken Ashby passed away quietly on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, after a sudden accident. He was surrounded by his life partner Judy Bentley, sister Arlinda Hansen and brother John Ashby.

Ken was an avid music lover and had several music rooms at his house and at his partner Judy's house. He attended many audio shows and made friends around the world on his audio sites. His audio and music friends knew he had a great ear for putting audio equipment together to create the best sound. He was constantly tweaking his systems and was always on the internet looking at equipment or ordering new equipment.

Ken moved from Utah where he worked at National Semi-conductor when he was recruited by Intel to New Mexico to work on the fab for 30 years. He made many many friends and was well respected for his technical knowledge and fun and easy-going personality. So many of his music and work friends reached out with their love as well as his large extended family who were so loving and helpful to us during our time of great grief.

Ken was a loving and generous partner, brother, uncle, and son. As an organ donor, he continues to give.

He was preceded in death by his father Wayne J Ashby, Mother Julia Jennette Nielson Ashby, sister Ruthmary Nordgren and brother David Christian Cuch Ashby.

He is survived by his life partner Judy Bentley, sister Arlinda (Kelly) Hansen and brother John Latham (Ilene) Ashby and lots of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

His celebration of life with be at French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE in Albuquerque at 11:30 am on Friday, June 19, 2026 with a reception after.
