With deepest sorrow, we announce Keegan Beckett Thomas, age 24, our treasured and beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2026.
Beckett is survived by his mother, Lisa Thomas and his father, Greg Thomas; his twin sister, Tierney Piper Thomas; his older brother, Liam Thomas, Liam's fiancée, Jenny McCarthy; and his older sister, Zoe Markus (née Thomas), along with her husband, Chris, and their daughter, Campbell.
Beckett was born with a fighting spirit in Lubbock, Texas, two minutes before his twin sister on January 15, 2002. A pure-hearted, honest, and respectful young man, Beckett's caring nature had always shown through in everything he did - with his whole heart and a quiet confidence that others aspired to emulate.
Beckett's genuine connections with those around him were the bedrock of the life he was building, and his stubbornness and lopsided smile were what helped him achieve all he was working toward. The deep, insightful way he thought about the world made him into the man we all know and love. You could talk with Beckett for hours about what was going on in the world, a movie, or his thoughts on the future, and he would give you his full attention and a unique perspective that changed how people looked at things. At the end of the day, he was a gentle soul who brought light to anyone who knew him and was truly one-of-a-kind.
Beckett will be sincerely missed by his close-knit family - forged both by blood and by friendship. The relationships he built over his lifetime will be carried in our hearts, and his impact on the world will continue to be felt as we move into this new reality.
Funeral and burial services will be held Monday, June 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at La Puerta Natural Burial Ground, 9 Ingreso Dr, Belen, NM 87002. If you would like to attend, please be aware that closed-toe shoes are recommended for an outdoor ceremony. Beckett's family will then hold a celebration of life at Spectators Bar & Grill at 2:00 p.m. following the services.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Beckett, the family asks that you donate in his name to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest (RMHC), which provides families with the ability to stay close to their child when they are receiving medical care.
