Kay Frances “Nana” Perks, age 90, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025. In her final moments, she was lovingly surrounded by her daughter Kathy, her son-in-law Tim, and her daughter-in-law Jean Marie. She left this world in the same way she lived — wrapped in love.
Kay was born on October 10, 1935, in Hugo, Oklahoma, the eldest child of Sue and Bill Standfier. She grew up in Hugo, where her story began and her foundation of strength, resilience, and family values was formed. Though she later made her home in Albuquerque, Oklahoma remained a cherished part of her heart.
Known lovingly as Nana, Kay was the cornerstone of her family — gentle yet strong, patient, generous, and endlessly loving. Her home was filled with laughter, warmth, shared meals, and stories that will be treasured for generations. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and deeply cared for.
Kay was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gerald Perks; her sister, Freddie Lee; her parents, Sue and Bill Standfier; and her brother, Billy Standfier.
She is survived by her children: • Kathy Duvall (Tim)
• Jerry Lee Perks (Julie)
• Dan Perks
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren:
• Jennifer Topley (Daniel) — Grace and Noah
• Kimber Duvall (Alberto) — Sophia and Rhiannon
• Dr. Candice Thomas (Austin) —James
• Brittany Clark (Jonathan) — Daniel, Dalton, Melody, and Raymond
• Braden Perks (Emmaly) — Addy and Owen
• Sean Perks
She is also survived by her devoted nephew, Steve Bradshaw (Devonne) and by Edith Gonzales, her long-term caretaker and angel, who lovingly supported her and patiently endured her stubbornness with grace and devotion.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Willow Wood Memory Care Facility, especially Erika and Sam, and to Roadrunner Hospice, especially Tara, Mona, Roger, and Beckie, whose care, dedication, and kindness provided comfort, support, and love to Kay in her final days.
Kay will be remembered for her quiet strength, her generous heart, and the love she wove through every generation of her family. We believe she is now in Heaven — dancing joyfully with her beloved husband Jerry and warmly embraced by her best friend and cousin Nene, who surely greeted her with love.
Her memory is a gift. Her love is her legacy. She will be missed always and remembered forever.
