Kathlene Yvonne (Lynch) Garcia

Kathlene Yvonne “Kat” Garcia (Lynch), age 56, passed away peacefully November 8, 2019, after a difficult struggle with cancer. She was born Wednesday, May 15, 1963 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated from Manzano High School. She eventually moved to Moriarty, New Mexico where, until her health condition made it impossible, she worked at the TA Travel Center. Kathy was a dedicated mother, first and foremost. She especially loved babies and single-handedly raised six of her own. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She made friends everywhere she went and her customers at the travel center loved her as well. Kathy was known for her love of homemade things and was an accomplished crafter. Anyone who meant anything to her certainly was given one of her afghans, or something embroidered, cross-stitched, sewn, or beaded. Her hands were rarely still and if she was not crafting, she was working a puzzle or coloring in one of her favorite books. Kathy was one of the original “girly” girls as she loved anything pink and sparkly. She also loved cats (especially cats) and dogs and will  be missed by her little dog, “Sancho”, and her crazy cat, “Burt”.

Kathy is survived by her parents William Lynch and Janice Vickers; her twin brother Scott Lynch, sister and husband Anne and Patrick Haskins, sister Billie Lynch, and brother and wife James and Shannon Lynch; her six children Kenneth Lujan, Robert Lujan, Ricardo Lujan, Tyler Garcia, Hollianne Garcia, and Francisco Garcia; grandchildren Kalel, Calvin, Jordon and Cali-Anne; nieces Allie and Jessie Johnson; nephew and wife Zachary and Anabel Tanner; and many, many cousins. Kathy was preceded in death by her grandchildren Kevin and Jose Lujan. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
