Kathleen Benson, 97. Our beloved Mother, Spouse, and Daughter passed away on June 24, 2026.
As a pioneer employee of Comcast Corp., she contributed greatly to the development of Comcast and the Cable TV industry. Kit lived in Philadelphia when she worked for Comcast.
After she retired, she and her husband moved to Albuquerque. She said she wanted to move here because of the sun.
She was a member of the New Mexico Quilters Assn., and served as Treasurer for 3 years.
Kit and Tom loved to travel. Alaska, Mexico, Barcelona, Ireland, Hong Kong, the river boat trips through Europe. Kit and Tom loved to travel. Not to mention all of the dinosaur digs.
They were members of the Sandia Peggers Cribbage Club. They played weekly at the senior center and traveled to tournaments around the country.
Kit was a volunteer and docent for the New Mexico Museum of Natural History. She also worked in the Storehouse of the museum where she and Tom worked on restoring dinosaur fossils.
Kit continued playing cribbage at the senior center after Tom passed.
She would take walks each morning with her dog, Hailey, and talk to the neighbors.
Kit is survived by her sister Marie, her sons Gary and James, and grandson, Kevin.
There will be a Remembrance Service at FRENCH -Wyoming on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 4:00 pm.
