Kathleen K. Basler, beloved mother and sister, was called to her eternal rest on June 1, 2025, at age of 83. She entered this world on September 21, 1941, born to Lester Kersten and Leota Kersten in Logan, Iowa. She lived with her family on their farm and attended school in a single room schoolhouse till she moved with her family to Longmont, Colorado in 1952. While attending Longmont High School she was involved in many different clubs including Pep Club, Latin Club, Future Homemakers of America, Historian, and Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science. She graduated high school in 1959. In 1963 she married James Basler and they were faithfully married for 58 years till Jame's death in 2022. During their first year together, they traveled a great deal for his work and visited several eastern seaboard states. Then in 1965 they were transferred to Albuquerque, New Mexico were Kathleen dedicated herself to homemaking and raising three sons. Her hobbies included sewing, cross stitching, and quilting and she gifted many of her works to members of the family. She enjoyed gardening and collecting items that reminded her of earlier life on the farm such as windmills and chicken figurines. And she loved her pet cats and turtles. Kathleen is survived by her sister, Connie Sprague and husband Jim Sprague and her three sons Bradley, Jeffrey, and Andrew Basler. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Basler, and her parents, Lester Kersten and Leota Kersten.
