Kathleen Burke Anthony

Mary Kathleen Burke Anthony passed away on May 30, 2021. She is survived by her children, Claire Anthony Toth and husband William of Tucson, AZ, Sean Michael Anthony and wife Yolanda of Albuquerque, NM, Heather Anthony Turner and husband Robert of Pflugerville, TX, and Megan Anthony Southard and husband John of Raleigh, NC; and her seven grandchildren, Ryan Jeffrey, Benjamin, Ashley, Cassidy, Capri, Chloe, and Andrew.

Kathleen was born in 1937 in Gallup, NM, to Frank Burke and Mary Teresa Noonen. She grew up with her siblings and her cousins in Gallup before leaving for boarding school in Albuquerque. She attended the University of New Mexico and was active in the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After graduating from UNM with a Spanish degree in 1958, Kathleen joined the civil service as a secretary and stenographer at Kirtland AFB, where she met and later married Alexander E. Anthony.

Kathleen enjoyed most her ti......... family, at home, cheering  proudly at grandkids’ sporting events and musical performances or out-of-state visits.

A passionate philanthropist, Kathleen volunteered her time as a Mediator, Meeting Arbitrator, Assistance League Blue Portal; St. Mary's Rest Home; and  as an active member of the Immaculate Conception, Kathleen read Mass in Spanish and English and helped to iron the linens.

She was lovingly cared for by the staff at La Vida Llena. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be celebrated July 1 at 4:00pm, at FRENCH-Wyoming. Reception to follow.

Kathleen was much loved by her siblings Brother John (and Pattie) Burke, Michael (and Virginia) Burke, Joseph (and Mary Ellen) Burke, Dorothy (and Gerald) Fitz-Gerald, and Jim (and Gay) Burke; Uncle Thomas (and Theo) Noonen; cousins Joe (and Fran), Tim (and Cece), John (and Andie), Joyce (and Sid), Theo (and Ted);  nieces and nephews Patti, Colleen, Bridget, Mike, Brian, Sean, Tim, Trey, Erin and Jesse.
