Julia Lanette Nelson

Julia Lanette Nelson was born August 14, 1946 in Douglas, Arizona. Lanette was called home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2023. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and friend.

Julia was born to Julian and Sammy Hash in 1946. She had an older brother, Robert L. Wright. She grew up in Killeen Texas until she met and married my Dennis R. Olson on April 3rd, 1964. Dennis was stationed at the Army base in Killeen Texas at the time and later, Dennis and Lanette moved to Frankfurt Germany where they had their first child Elizabeth in1965. Later they moved back to Killeen Texas in 1966 and had their second child, Dennis in 1966. Dennis and Lanette moved to Shelley, Idaho when Dennis was discharged from the Army. Dennis and Lanette divorced in 1977, shortly there after, Lanette picked up her family and moved to Houston Texas to live with her brother and family. Lanette remarried John Nelson Feb. 14, 1982 in Phoenix Arizona. Her family grew as she gained 7 more children along with grandchildren. Later, John and Lanette moved to Shelly, Minnesota where she lived happily until John went to be with the Lord, July 8,2013. Lanette moved to Arizona and lived with Dennis and his wife until they moved to Missouri. Dennis was a long haul truck driver until the Lord called him home on March 7,2022.

Lanette leaves behind her daughter Denise Montoya, son in law Tony their sons and families, Dennis' wife Michele and his three sons Dennis II, Andrew and Joel. Her brother's wife JoAnn Wright as well as Sue York and family, Ron and Brenda Nelson and family, Ken Nelson and family, Gail Nelson and family, Nelson and family, Dan Nelson and family, and Lisa Nelson's family. Between the Nelson and Montoya families, Lanette has 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1great great grandchild

She loved most animals and there isn't a time where she did not have a pet. Lanette used share stories with her daugther Denise about her monkey when she was a girl. Lanette worked at a Dairy Queen in Arizona and was one of the 1st people to make a blizzard. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, knitting and Elvis Presley. Lanette was preceded by her parents, Dennis R. Olson, grandson Todd, Daughter Lisa, Husband John, Brother Robert Wright(Butch) and son Dennis L. Olson. She will be truly missed by many.

We will celebrating her life on November 3rd at noon at 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114.
