Julia Y. Andrews (Raley) of Albuquerque, NM, passed away in the early hours of March 23, 2024 at the age of 82, with her loving daughters by her side. Julie, as she preferred to be called, was the daughter of the late William and Veilla Raley of Florida.
Julie was born on October 7, 1941 in Keystone Heights, Florida and was the youngest of 4 girls. She also had 2 younger brothers she adored. Julie loved regaling stories of her childhood to her daughters, often telling stories of the mischief her and her younger brother Ed would get into. After graduating high school, Julie set off on her own and moved to Pensacola, Florida where she found work in a nylon factory. In her time off from work, she would often spend time at the beach, and this is where she met her future husband James Dale, who was attending Flight School at the Naval base nearby.
Julie and James were married on November 2, 1961 in Pensacola, Fl. After leaving the military, the family settled in Albuquerque, NM where Julie enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. Julie had many hobbies, but once her daughters were grown, she decided to go back to work. She worked for Molina Healthcare for many years, and retired in 2007.
After retiring, her caring and nurturing nature compelled her to take in her mother-in-law Dorothy, whom she graciously took care of her in her final years. Julie was a very warm and caring person, who enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife to her husband of 62 yrs. She loved taking care of her garden, and the many turtles that lived there. She also loved spending time feeding and talking to the roadrunners who visited her yard.
Julie will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Vivian, Lois and Alice, her youngest brother, Alvin and her loving husband James Dale who passed away earlier this year. She is survived by, her brother Ed in Florida, daughter, Kelly (Rick), daughter, Tracy (Andy) and four grandchildren, Marc, Cheyenne, Alexis and Kimber, as well as many nieces and nephews.
At Julie's request, there will be no funeral services.
