Janelle Epperson

Janelle Epperson, a one of a kind original, passed away peacefully at her residence in Albuquerque on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Janelle was born to Freeman Henry and Joyce Bonita Epperson in Oklahoma where they were teachers, her dad was the school principal.

Janelle followed in the family profession, graduating from H.S in Holbrook, AZ and earning a teaching degree from ASU in 1957. With her passion for education and higher learning she additionally earned a Masters Degree from UNM 1967 and a Master's Degree from USC 1977 in education, behavioral health and counseling.

As the developer of and Director of the Learning Center she was everyone's favorite adviser. Janelle influenced many lives and taught hundreds of students at Chaffey High School in Ontario, CA. She had a 39 year teaching career before retiring and giving her beloved mother the best years of their lives together.

Janelle was a world traveler and adventurer who was always looking to have fun experiences. She enjoyed sharing her funny stories with friends. A Coca-Cola (her fav) plus a snack- always a must. You can't say no!

Janelle is survived by her family in California, Richard Rachuy, Jason, Jodie, Jamie, Peyton, and the other five "little squirts". She is survived by her family in England, Lynne and George Hargreaves "The Brits", and her first cousin Crisanto Underwood and family in Albuquerque New Mexico.

Celebration of Life and Viewing for Janelle will be at FRENCH- Lomas on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Eulogy at 4:00 pm by Richard Underwood.

A Service will be at 10:00 am at Sandia Memory Gardens on Friday, August 7, 2026.
