Joyce Ruth Bugg passed away on May 7, 2026 in Albuquerque, preceded in death by her husband, LCDR (Ret.) Norman D. Bugg, in 2018. They were married for 64 years. Joyce, like her husband, became known for their beautiful Christmas display, otherwise known as the "Bugg Lights." Joyce was affectionately known as Mrs. Claus.
Mrs. Bugg is survived by her four children: Matthew Bugg of La Quinta, California; Nathan Bugg of Albuquerque; Kimberly Bugg of Greenville, Texas; and Patrick Bugg of Albuquerque. She is also survived by grandchildren: Tara Bugg Hinchen of Indio, California; Darcie Bugg Cotton of La Quinta, California; Jared Bugg of Albuquerque; Jason Bugg of Albuquerque; Julianne Bugg Apodaca of Blythewood, South Carolina; Andrew Bugg of Albuquerque; and Leslie Bugg of Panama City Beach, Florida. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Friday, May 15, 2026, between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm at FRENCH-Wyoming. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, beginning with a Viewing at 1:00 pm and Funeral Service at 2:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, San Victorio Chapel at 11750 San Victorio Ave. NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
