Josephine (Josie) Gonzales, 96, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. She was born on August 6, 1929, in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Josie dedicated 30 years to New Mexico Health and Social Services, where she served as a social worker. In retirement, she loved bowling with her husband in a city league. She also enjoyed traveling in her motorhome with her husband and grandchildren and spending time fishing at lakes throughout northern New Mexico.

Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel, who passed away on October 2, 2022.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Gonzales and his wife, Cindy, and Manny Gonzales and his wife, Monica; her daughter, Edie Gonzales-Sandoval, and her husband, Bennie; her grandchildren, Anita Sandoval and family, and Selina and Mike Rimbert and family; six great-grandchildren; her niece, Cyndi Herrera; and her nephews, Dino and Mary Francis Herrera, and Joseph Frankie Herrera.

Services for Josie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 811 Guaymas Place NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
