Joseph William Yeske, entered into the arms of God on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the age of 67, after a tough battle with prostate cancer. Joe was born Thursday, October 15, 1953, in New Hope, Pennsylvania, to Elmer Calvin and Leanna Lillian Yeske (née Scheets). He is survived by his brothers, David and Keith (Marian), and his sister ,Michelle Cramer (Brian), who miss him so very much. He leaves behind his niece, Alexis Cramer, and nephew, Ty Cramer, who were his heart’s joy and the reason he fought so hard to the end. Joe’s faithful companion, Echo, will surely miss her Dad. Joe, David and Keith lost their Dad in a car accident when Joe was just four years old and he became the man of the house. Joe spent three years with Keith at the all-boys boarding school, Milton Hershey School, in Hershey, Pennsylvania before moving out to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for his mother’s health. Joe attended Highland High School where he honed his skills in the trades. As a self-taught woodworker, Joe became a master cabinetmaker and installer. Known for his eye for detail and meticulous workmanship his work was sought after by the likes of Chaco Hotel, The Sawmill, and Inn at Loretto. What he lacked in punctuality he made up for in abundant generosity. Joe had a big personality to match his stature. His gregarious nature and love of a good laugh attracted people to him. He was kind-hearted to a fault and his legacy is the abundance of friends he left behind. Never one to pass up a drive to tour the States, he is sure he drove over a million miles sightseeing “off the beaten path.” True to his Yeske nature, he had a Bohemian taste for adventure and seeing the world. He was proud of the deep friendships he had across the nation and grateful for the love of friends. Joe’s family thanks all those who reached out in love and support, you have shown us our brother with new eyes. A celebration of life will be held in the spring/summer of 2021 when we can gather to share our stories of Joe. In the meantime, the family asks for written or recorded remembrances of Joe if you have stories to share: NewMexicoNative@gmail.com.
