Joseph "Joe" Rippin Jr.

Joseph "Joe" Rippin, Jr., age 92 of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was born in Illinois, served in the US Army, got married to Dolores, started a family and later was transferred by GTE Lenkurt (Siemens) to Albuquerque where he moved his family to enjoy a long and successful career.

Joe is survived by his 3 children: his son Joseph Rippin, daughters Karen Goatcher (Larry), and Denise Coffield (Jaime), 7 grandchildren: Madeline, Daniel, Matthew, and Luke Rippin; Kaley Woelfel (Destin), Kalvin Goatcher (Kaelyn), and Rylen Coffield; and great-granddaughter Sonya Woelfel. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Joan Lorenzo and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife Dolores of 66 years, his parents, and a brother.

Joe had a wonderful life filled with laughter, generosity, traveling and love for his family. He was an avid gardner, and treasured every moment he had with his grandchildren. He was very involved at John XXIII Catholic Church. Joe will be greatly missed.

A rosary will be recited on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 9:30 am followed by Mass at 10:00 am at St. John XXIII Catholic Community. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
