Joseph Charles Quirici, 84, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, surrounded by family after unexpected events.

Born on March 8, 1941, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Solferino Quirici and Viola “Tartaglia” Quirici, Joe was known for his charm and humor. Joe graduated from the University of Albuquerque (College of Saint Joseph on the Rio Grande) and went on to a long career as a teacher and renaissance man. His commitment to teaching lasted throughout his life and by teaching he touched many lives.

Joe was a passionate rancher, outdoorsman, coach, and teacher who loved spending time watching sports and being with his family.

Joe is survived by his siblings, Lorainne Brunacini and Robert Quirici and wife, Joan; children, Giovanna Quirici and Bruno Quirici and wife, Kate; nephew, George Brunacini; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A viewing, rosary, and mass will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, 8:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Rd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. The burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
