Joseph "Buddy" Perea, 84, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 15, 1941, Buddy was known for his magnetic personality, natural charisma, and ability to bring a smile to every room.
With a lifelong career in auto sales that spanned more than 50 years, Buddy built lasting relationships with countless customers, colleagues, and friends. His genuine kindness and ability to connect with anyone made him a beloved figure in his community.
Buddy was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. He loved music, dancing, and striking up conversations-often turning strangers into friends. His laughter, lighthearted humor, and welcoming nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, connection, and joyful memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. Buddy is survived by his sister, Dolores Caldwell (Bob); his former wife, Pauline Perea; his children, Danny Perea, Terry Chavez (Tim), Paula Rael (Jerome), and Renee Perea (Stu); his daughter-in-law, Theresa Perea; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leopoldo and Josephine Perea; and his son, Joseph "Joey" Perea.
Buddy will be deeply missed, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at the Albuquerque Museum, 2000 Mountain Rd. NW.
