Joseph F. Lucero ("Joe") passed away on March 25, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, F.C. Lucero and Dolores (Lola) Martinez Lucero.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joy Herren Lucero; his children, Kurt Lucero and Kristi Segal; and his beloved grandchildren: Sarah (28) and her husband, Cody Dye; Emma (21), daughters of Kurt; and Kate (21) and Brandon (19), children of Kristi.

A proud 1959 graduate of Valley High School, Joe went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps Reserve-an experience he held in great pride. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Mexico.

Joe built a successful career with Parke-Davis, now part of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. In retirement, he and his wife Joy founded The Cleanery, which continues to thrive and is owned and operated by their son, Kurt.

He will be remembered as a man who was funny, strong, and deeply devoted to his family. A loving husband, a steady and caring father, and a loyal friend, Joe found his greatest joy in time spent with those he loved-especially watching his grandchildren grow and pursue their own paths.

His grandchildren were everything to him; he beamed with pride whenever he spoke of them, and the love he held for them will remain one of his most enduring legacies.

A celebration of Joe's life will be announced at a later date.
