Jose Barraza

Jose Barraza, born on May 5, 1951, in Villa Ocampo, Durango, Mexico, in a vibrant community that celebrated his Hispanic heritage, passed away peacefully from natural causes on September 23, 2026.

A devoted family man, Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Barraza, and their 7 children. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Jose had a successful career in quality control within the nuclear medicine pharmacy industry, where he was known for his dedication and meticulous attention to detail. Outside of work, he was a passionate traveler who embraced life fully, always seeking new adventures and experiences. His enthusiasm for celebrating life was infectious, and he inspired those around him with his optimistic outlook and love for dancing. These passions not only brought him joy but also fostered meaningful connections with his family and friends.

Jose was preceded in death by his mother, Merced Palma, his father, Nolberto Barraza, granddaughter, Clarice Barraza, and 21 siblings.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at French Funerals Westside-Chapel at 11:00 AM, with a family viewing preceding it at 10:00 AM. The graveside service will take place at 12:45 pm, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by a reception at French Funerals Westside-Reception Room from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

Jose's presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
