Jose Manuel Armas, affectionately known by his family as 'Tata', age 23, passed away tragically on May 26, 2026. Jose was born on July 17th in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jose was a kind and loving soul who loved his family and wanted to help those around him. He enjoyed listening to music and working out, and could often be found watching anime, playing video games, or simply spending time with his family and friends. Jose was known for his gentle nature and quiet sense of humor.

Jose is survived by his fiancé Liyah Yazzie (Alicia Smith & Nettie Yazzie); parents Linda Alderete (Lydia Lopez), Jose Armas Sr, Eligio Ramirez; siblings Ezequil, Elier, Vianni & Briella; grandparents Juan & Sara Alderete, Eligio Ramirez Sr & Teresa Pena; Aunts and Uncles Manuela (Richard) Griego, Sara (Dean) Houliston, Laura Alderete (Jeff Morgan), John Alderete, Manny Alderete, Bobby Alderete, Jose Ramirez; and several cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday June 3, 2026, at 11:00am at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.

The family takes comfort in the words of 1 Corinthians 15:55-56 "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law." Jose will be deeply missed and live on in those that love him, until they meet again.
