John Thomas Hunter passed away September 21, 2025. He was born in Mt. Dora/Clayton, New Mexico on December 10, 1927, and married Florence Lou Wood on October 7, 1947.
John served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He was the recipient of the Victory Medal from WWII and the Korean War. After the war, he worked at ACF, contractor for AEC, and as a Maintenance Supervisor for Piggly Wiggly, Allsups, and many other stores.
John was a member of Heights Baptist and Del Norte Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Florence Lou Hunter; his brothers, Elmer T. and Cecil M. Hunter; his sister, Velma Shult, and his oldest son, Thomas W. Hunter. John is survived by his daughter, Joan Puccini and her husband, Louis; his sons and their wives John Timothy (Katherine), and Floyd Lee (Cindy); 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
