Listen to Obituary

John B Stockton, age 84 of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. John was born John Burton Stockton, Jr,  May 30, 1941, in Oklahoma City to John B Stockton Sr and Geraldine Edna Jones Stockton.

John grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma, and completed his education at Choctaw High School prior to joining the Navy. He proudly served for over 23 years at many duty stations and on various naval ships, including the USS Oklahoma City. He served in Vietnam for over one year as a procurement specialist.

The most important things in John's life were serving his country, spending time with his family, and his faith. He served the Hoffmantown Church community as a deacon, a jail minister, and gave of himself in many other ways. He had a lifetime of interests including hot air ballooning, traveling cross country, old classic country music, sharing family stories, four wheeling, treasure hunting at secondhand sales, and attending military reunions.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Connie Jean Yandell. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Belt Broyles-Stockton and his daughters Robin Lynn and Linda Sue. He is also survived by stepsons Robin, Rande, and Richard Broyles as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, April 13, 2026 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am followed by a graveside service with full military honors at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a favorite charity.
