John Morris

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Christopher "JC" Morris on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024. John was a beloved husband, son, nephew, and friend, whose warmth and humor touched the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Yvonne Herrera, and their cherished dog, Maggie. JC also leaves behind his loving parents, Ken and Jean Morris; his special aunt and uncle, Barbara and Bert Tate; aunts Karin Schulte and Carolyn Bosson; and numerous cousins who adored him.

John's journey began at Manzano High School, where he graduated in 1990. His passion for mechanics led him to enroll at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI), where he became a renowned motorcycle technician. In 2003, his expertise with Ducati motorcycles introduced him to Yvonne, who would become the love of his life. Their story began when Yvonne's 996 Ducati required frequent attention, sparking a beautiful relationship.

For 25 years, John honed his skills as a motorcycle mechanic, earning respect and admiration in his field. Later, he pursued further education at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM), graduating as a machinist. At Jaguar Precision, John expanded his expertise, working on defense and aerospace parts-a testament to his dedication and growing skills.

John's love for the outdoors was cultivated early, skiing with his parents from the moment he could fit into ski boots. His father shared a passion for all things mechanical, and together they found joy in motorizing almost anything, especially flying remote control airplanes. John's adventurous spirit also took him to racetracks across the U.S., where he enjoyed MotoGP, F1, IRL, and air races with family and friends.

With a dark sense of humor and a love for horror films instilled by his mother, John brought joy and laughter to many family gatherings. He even surpassed his mother's culinary skills, delighting loved ones with his signature dishes John's legacy is marked by the friendships he formed through his professional and personal endeavors. Remember JC for the laughter, love, and good times he shared with each of you. He was a good man, and his presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
