John F. Mascarenas

(December 5, 1932 -July 31, 2025)

John F. Mascarenas passed on from this life on July 31, 2025, at the age of 93 in Albuquerque, NM, at Morada Senior Living. John was a son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, and friend to many and will be missed.

John was known for being an incredibly hard worker throughout his life. His work ethic and his commitment to ensuring his family was taken care of was second to none. John’s hard work and ethics were passed on to his children and his legacy will continue to live through his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his father, John Mascarenas, his mother, Mary (Lovato) Mascarenas, and his brother Louis Mascarenas.

John is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty Mascarenas, children, Rosie VanOrman, spouse, William VanOrman, Larry J. Mascarenas, spouse, Simona Mascarenas all of Albuquerque, NM. Additionally, he has one living sister, Mary(Lesama) Salmon of Washington state.

John is also survived by four grandchildren, Robert VanOrman, spouse, Lydia VanOrman (Albuquerque), Larry Michael Mascarenas (Albuquerque), Jonathan Mascarenas, spouse, Monica Mascarenas (Broomfield CO), and Amanda Eubank, spouse, Jason Eubank (Albuquerque)

John has five great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces that he leaves behind.
