It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a devoted husband, beloved dad and Papa, John F. Lederer, Jr., on April 30, 2026, at the age of 92.

John was born June 28, 1933, in Trumbauersville, Pennsylvania to John Lederer, Sr. and Cecelia Lederer. He proudly served his country as a Medical Corpsman in the US Navy. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, John started his career as a carpenter. He and his wife, Jeanette, were married on June 1, 1957. He and his family soon after moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he was a member of the Carpenters Union until his retirement. John was a member of the Old Car Club and a volunteer with AARP for more than a decade. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed the summers camping, fishing and boating with his family. He also enjoyed watching WWE, the Dallas Cowboys and the Phillies.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette of 68 years; son, John Lederer; daughters Colleen Dietz and Tracy McCory (Michael). Grandchildren Ryan Dietz (Lisa), Alicia Montoya (Pete), Derek Dietz (Nikki), and Sarah McCory. Great-grandchildren Jordan, Malia, Cody, Luke and Dalton.

He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dennis Dietz; sister-in-law, Verna Fluck; brothers-in-law, Richard Fluck and Vincent Fulginiti.

The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the University of New Mexico Hospital for the exceptional medical treatment given to John and also to the Albuquerque VA CLC Hospice Unit for the dignity and respect given to John in his final days..

A visitation followed by a funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at FRENCH-Lomas. He will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
