John Francis Heck IV

John Francis Heck IV passed away at his home in Albuquerque on Monday, March 2, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kathy Heck, daughter Kendra Heck, his pride and joy, his parents, John Francis Heck III and Janet Heck, his mother-in-law Veronica Bustamante, sister Jenise and brother-in-law Mike, sister-in-law Kelley and brother-in-law Ralph, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

John was born in Pasadena, California and raised in Ventura. He attended Buena High School and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He became a licensed Professional Engineer and worked in California and New Mexico, his home of 33 years. In 1994, he met Kathy and they were married in 1997. In 2006 their beautiful daughter became a part of their lives. 

In 1998, John joined Bridgers & Paxton Consulting Engineers and joined the Board of Directors in July 2001. His contributions to his profession and community are numerous. John was an accomplished cyclist, it was his passion, spending most days on his bike with his cycling friends, training for and competing in races throughout the southwest through the years. He climbed mountains on his bike both here and abroad. John participated actively in his community most recently serving as President of the Rotary Club of Albuquerque del Sol. He will always be remembered for his beautiful personality - he could light up a room - his unique sense of humor, and his passion for life. His wisdom was profound and his legacy will carry through to his daughter in his belief that it is always about what's in your heart and your values and passions in life.

Family and Friends are welcome to attend the funeral at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
