John Godfroy Feely, Jr

John Godfroy Feely, Jr. (Jack) was born in Chicago IL, Wednesday, June 8, 1932. He passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 peacefully at home with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine and John Feely; brother, Richard; and nephew, Michael. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marcia; and his brother Dan and wife Marsha. His children, daughter Anne Atkins and husband James, son John "Johnny" G Feely, III and wife Maryellen, and son Michael. He has 5 grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Feely and wife Annie, Devan Marie Montoya and husband Gerrid, John "Jack" Robert Feely and wife Becca, Lauren Anne Atkins, and Ryan James Atkins. Also his 4 great-grandchildren; Bennett, John Robert, Peyton and Colette.
John graduated from Price Christian Brothers High School in Amarillo, TX in 1950. He then attended St. Michaels College in Santa Fe, played college baseball, studied accounting, and met lifelong friends. He graduated in 1954. He served in the Army from 1954 thru 1956 with most of his time spent in Germany. After being discharged he returned to Albuquerque and went into business with his Dad and met Marcia; they were married Saturday, June 17, 1961. He owned and operated Unique Cleaners, next to Old Town from 1957 thru 1984. During this time and afterward he also worked for Adco, Inc (a dry cleaning chemical co) that took him all around NM and west Texas. In 1998 he retired and became a "full-time rancher" and spent much of his time on his ranch in western New Mexico where he raised Black Angus cattle. He always enjoyed visiting with his friends, going to Lobo football and basketball games, and all the while sharing good (and bad) jokes and stories wherever he went.
