John Terrence Driscoll

September 27, 1943 — June 5, 2025

The world became a little less bright on June 5th, 2025, with the passing of John Terrence Driscoll. On that day, John, born on September 27, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, succumbed to a year-long illness, leaving his wife Judy, with whom he shared the last 61 years of his life. John met Judy in 1963 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico at a picnic and he claimed that it was "love at first sight." When he learned that she lived in El Paso, he decided to live there rather than returning to Pennsylvania with his parents when they returned to his home state. John and Judy married nine months later at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and within five years they had all four of their children.

John began his career working as a salesman in the lumber and hardware business. In 1974 he was offered a sales position at a lumber company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He accepted the job and moved his family to Albuquerque where he has lived ever since. John went on to open his own hardware store where he worked for the remainder of his career. John was a dedicated family man and father. He was extremely involved in his kids' school activities and sporting events. John was the happiest when he was surrounded by his loving family.

John is survived by his wife, Judy; and their four children, Terri, John Jr. and wife, Cathy, David and wife, Cindy, and Steven and wife, Pam. He left numerous grandchildren, and their spouses and significant others: Michael Ary and LeeAnn Yardman, Richard Rodriguez and wife, Olga, Steven Driscoll, Tyrone Driscoll, Meghan Mauer and husband, Benjamin, Brigid Driscoll and Alex Vergara, Madison Driscoll and Nikalus Skipp, Hannah Driscoll, and Joseph Fredrickson. He also left two great-grandchildren, Tatum Ary and Hayden Marlow and Keifer Ary. John is also survived by one sister, Genevieve Mihalek and husband, Paul; brothers, DeSales and wife, Mary Lou, and Robert and wife, Debbie; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. John Joseph and Genevieve Marie Driscoll; his sister, Margaret (Peggy); and his brother, Patrick.
