John De Dios Chavez, Jr. died July 13, 2026; born in Albuquerque on September 10, 1949.
He was a devoted son, husband and father. Beloved by family and friends. John enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities. He joined the Naval Reserve his senior year in high school and served active duty in Vietnam from 1968 through 1970. Returned home and worked in the communications field with Western Electric, Qwest, and Sacred Wind Communications for 40+ years. John is survived by his wife Nancy, children Zachary (wife Tasha), John Michael, and Erin, many grandchildren, two great grandchildren due in November, his sister Loretta, her son BJ and extended family. We love you and miss you.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 11am at FRENCH-Wyoming, followed by interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
