John Thomas Boyer, beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, was born on July 2, 1991, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Billy Lee and Della Denise Boyer. He tragically passed away on September 12, 2025, from injuries sustained in a car accident. John was 34 years old and had just celebrated his second wedding anniversary with the love of his life, Allyson Noel Teel.
John grew up in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana before graduating from Ponder High School. He went on to attend the University of New Mexico, where he pursued his passion for helping others and became a Registered Nurse. Throughout his career, he worked in various areas of healthcare-including psychiatry, rehabilitation, and disability nursing-always bringing compassion and dedication to those in his care.
Outside of his career, John was a gifted musician with a deep love for the guitar, each of his instruments holding a special meaning to him. He was proud of his Cherokee heritage and had been learning the Cherokee language. A descendant of Chief Nancy Ward, he cherished traditions such as making bean bread and fry bread. John also had a brilliant mind and a thirst for knowledge, often enjoying Jeopardy! and immersing himself in history, especially during road trips to historic sites across the country.
John's love for his family was immeasurable. He is survived by his wife Allyson, his parents Lee and Denise Boyer, his brother Dalton and sister-in-law Stormy, and his two beloved nephews, Gregory and Teddy. His presence brought light, laughter, and warmth to all who knew him, and he leaves behind countless cherished memories.
John's wife and family wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. His impact on the lives of those around him will never be forgotten, and his absence is deeply felt.
A memorial service to honor John's life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Road NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87111. The service will also be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person.
John's life was one filled with love, curiosity, and devotion. Though gone far too soon, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
