Jo Ann Chavez

Jo Ann Chavez, Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister went to heaven on June 23, 2016. Jo Ann Chavez was born on March 18, 1947 to William David and E. Cleo McCormick in Raton, NM. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gregorio (Greg) Chavez; one daughter, Georgiana (Giana) Chavez; two granddaughters, Kymbery Coleman and Augustina Reill; and sister, Martha Jane Martinez, who all live in Albuquerque. Jo Ann never met anyone that she didn't like and had lots and lots of friends, that will miss her as much as her family will. Jo Ann loved going ballooning, fishing and working with children of all ages. She worked for APS for years helping students with special needs. She also taught CCD at church for many years. She will be dearly missed. Services will be held at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria NE, on Saturday, July 2, 2016. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be Friday, July 8, 2016 at 9:45 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
