Jessica Marie Otero

Jessica Marie Otero, a beloved member of the Albuquerque community, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on May 16, 1944, in El Cerro, NM, Jessica lived a life filled with love, faith, and countless cherished memories. She dedicated over 30 years as a receptionist at the University of New Mexico, where her warm smile and kind heart left a lasting impression on students and faculty alike before she retired.

A woman of strong faith, Jessica was actively involved at Holy Family Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister, sharing her beliefs and love for the community. She had a nurturing spirit, which led her to volunteer for hospice care, providing comfort and companionship to those in need. Jessica had a passion for collecting angels, a reflection of her gentle nature and her belief in the enduring power of hope.

Jessica is survived by her sister, Bea LaBerge, along with her brother-in-law, David; her cherished nephews, Bryan (Allyson), Craig (J.R.), Adam (Nicole), and Jared; and her beloved great-niece and goddaughter, Kaitlyn; and great-nephews, Cyrus and Grayson.

Jessica was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Guadalupe Otero; her brother, Jesse Otero; and her grandparents, Leopoldo and Carlota Baca.

The family will gather to celebrate her life with a Rosary on Friday, October 23, 2026, 8:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 9:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, with a reception to follow.

Jessica will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
