Jesse Paul Haines, age 83, passed on to his Heavenly home on February 11, 2026.
Jesse was born in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and as a young boy moved with his family to West Milton, Ohio. Growing up along the Stillwater River behind the family home, he enjoyed playing basketball, running track, spending time with friends and family, and water skiing. He graduated from Milton-Union High School in 1960 and went on to attend Sinclair Community College, graduating in 1963. While working his way through college by alternating classes with employment at Hobart Brothers in Troy, Ohio, he began what would become a lifelong career in engineering.
During that time, Jesse married the love of his life, Vickie Rhoades, in late 1962. Together they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage before Vickie's passing in March 2021.
Jesse's professional journey took him to several companies over the years, primarily in engineering and technical sales within the construction equipment industry. Most notably, he began his career with Laserplane Corporation (now Trimble) in 1969 as a draftsman and rose through the ranks to serve as Vice President. His work allowed him to travel throughout the Southwest, where he fell in love with the red rocks of Moab, Utah.
In 1977, Jesse and Vickie moved their family from Ohio to Colorado, where they became owners of a Big Red Q Quick Print business. After 22 years in Colorado, they relocated to Farmington, New Mexico, for several years before Jesse's career led them to Albuquerque, where he worked in the healthcare insurance industry.
Jesse had a deep love for travel and the outdoors, especially the stunning landscapes of the Southwest. He was passionate about aviation and especially enjoyed piloting his Piper Archer airplane. He also loved water skiing, snow skiing, bike and motorcycle riding, staying physically fit, and exploring new places. Above all, Jesse cherished time with friends and family, maintaining lifelong relationships and creating treasured memories with those he loved.
Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vickie; his parents, Aubrey and Lois Haines; and other loved ones who welcomed him home to Heaven.
He is survived by his brother, Joe Haines of New York; his sister, Faithe Pierce (Gary) of West Milton Ohio; his two children, Kraig Haines (Cindy) of Palmyra, Pennsylvania, and Kara Haines Wood (Randy) of Farmington, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Steph Georges (Adam), Zach Haines, Austin Foster, Cory Haines, Dylan Haines, Adam Fillman, Lizzy Fillman, and Noah Fillman; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob Georges, Olivia Grace Haines, Madison Georges, and Nora Haines. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were such an important part of his life.
No services will be held at this time.
Kraig and Kara would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Presbyterian Hospital and High Desert Hospice in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for their exceptional care and support during a difficult time.
Jesse will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, steady dedication, deep love for his family, and the legacy of faith and perseverance he leaves behind.
