Beloved father, uncle, and friend, Jerry Nishida, passed away on July 17th, 2025. He was a kind and gentle soul, loved by many, who were lucky to be loved by him. During the Korean War, he served in the Marines and was stationed in Hawaii. Jerry was an engineer who spent his entire career working for Varian Associates in Palo Alto, California. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and camping. He was fascinated by gadgets and electronics and loved figuring out how all things mechanical worked. After retirement, he started building remote control model planes. He enjoyed taking them out and flying them at the Skypark or sometimes just watching others fly. He was deeply devoted to his family and is survived by his daughter, Cathy, son-in-law, Gabe Martinez; sister Joyce and her husband, Lawrence Itatani; brother Dale and his wife, Charlotte Nishida; nieces Caryn and Lori, and their husbands, Ed Ito and Edgar Eugenio; nephews Andy, Ken, and Bob, and their wives Kathleen and Trichelle. He is also survived by great-nieces and great-nephews - Alysa, Kaila, Masa, Kara, Kelli, Ben, Kamille, Bradley, and Quinn and great-grand-niece Charlie, born earlier this year to parents Alysa and Josh Carluen. His memorial and celebration of life will be held August 31st at 1-pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Colma, California.
