Jerome Leaveil Smullen, age 40, passed away in his home on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jerome was born in Albuquerque, NM on August 28th, 1978 to his mother Carmen Jackson. He is survived by his mother Carmen, grandmother Gloria Jackson, two younger sisters Danielle Torres, and Lea Tifft, his brother- in-law Zachary Tifft ,and his niece Lilyanna Torres.
When anyone thinks about who Jerome was, the first thing that comes to mind is his sense of humor. He made people laugh and smile but most of all he always had the ability to see the good in difficult situations. He would find a way to uplift you in times of need and offer positivity and cheer, always viewing life with optimism. He was a protector and fighter of life. Jerome was a man of God, he worshipped and prayed often, always inspiring those around him. He had a big caring heart, he was kind & gentle, and he’d be the one person to pull his shirt off his back for you. He was one of the most adventurous souls who had the opportunity to see and experience so much. He was engaging, always telling stories that would make you laugh so hard your cheeks would hurt. He had this ability to make you believe in yourself and the abilities that everyone possesses. He would say “Without having any goals in your life every day, you will never come to achieve something great”. He was the definition of someone great, he worked hard and never faltered. With every adventure he would bring his family along, however this is the final journey he must take alone. He was truly someone special and one of a kind, his presence will always be missed, and he will forever remain in our hearts.
Jerome's Family will be having a small and intimate private celebration of his life.
