Jean Anne Moreland, age 92, loving mother, passed away January 25, 2018. Jean was known for her service at the Cherry Hills Library and Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, daily walks along Barstow Park, square dancing with Church House Squares and Levi’s and Lace, and kind dedication to family and friends. Born in New Hampton, Iowa, Jean moved to Washington, DC during World War II to work as a clerk at the FBI. She met her future husband on the day she arrived in Washington, DC and married him in 1945.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Barbara), Daniel (Cora), Susan Bowling (Haden), Richard (Teresa), Janet, and Paula Heynen (Patrick); her grandchildren, Tracy Lee (David), Brian (Kyle), Shannon and Nicholas Bowling, Miguel (Diana) and Kristiana Jarquin-Moreland, Andrea, Kara, and Mikatrin Heynen; and her great grandchildren, Kristen and Kevin Lee and Brooks. She also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William Michael; her son Mark (Lisa); her parents Clement and Irma Gleason; and brothers John, James, and Richard Gleason.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming with a Rosary to follow. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Ave. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
