Jean Hollenbach

Jean Hollenbach, born on May 13, 1924, in Rahway, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 101.

Jean dedicated more than two decades of her professional life to the University of New Mexico, where she served secretary for the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Her commitment and excellence were recognized in 1984 when she received the Regents Meritorious Service Award - an honor that reflected her steadfast dedication and valued contributions to the university community.

Beyond her career, Jean was deeply involved in service and volunteerism. She led a Girl Scout troop with enthusiasm and care, helping shape young lives through mentorship and example. She also gave generously of her time to Meals on Wheels and Carlisle Plaza Methodist Church. Her love for reading extended into her volunteer work as a reading assistant at Bel Air Elementary School, where she helped foster a love of books in young students.

Jean found joy in simple pleasures-she was an avid reader who cherished quiet moments with a good book and friends who brought joy and warmth into her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her children; son Keith Cooper and his wife Donna; daughter Randee Flowers and her husband Alan. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Eric Cooper and his wife Joann; Tieler Cooper and his wife Shayla; Casi Foster and her children Taryn, Logan, and Ryker; Dr. John Flowers and his wife Dr. Tami Flowers with their children Cameron and Alex; Alanna Ballard and her husband Mike with their children Harvey and Griffin Ballard.

Jean was preceded in death by her sister Isabelle Cooper, brother George Mitchell, first husband John Stebner, and second husband Roy Hollenbach.

Her long life was marked by service to others, devotion to family, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.

A memorial Gathering will be held on September 13, 2025, from 01:30 PM to 02:00 PM at FRENCH-Wyoming, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE.
