Jean Rose Burstein

Jean Rose Burstein, 89, of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by son, Ron; granddaughter, Kristin Van der Poel, of Littleton, CO; step-grandson, Rob Weber; daughter-in-law, Barbara Burstein; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Liz Hirsch, of Upper Gwynedd, PA; sister, Phyllis Gillman, of Grove City, OH; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband of 45 years, David Burstein; and older son, Eric.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Jean moved to Jersey City, NJ after marrying husband David. Jean, David, and Ron moved to Albuquerque in 1976. Jean had a long career working for a variety of organizations, including Houbigant, the March of Dimes, and Sandia National Laboratories. She loved to cook, sew, knit, crochet, draw, read, garden, and travel.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH – University, followed by the burial at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd SE. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Association or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
