JB Hamlet, 82, a gentle man, beloved husband and father, passed away on Sunday February 7, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia; son, Roger and wife, Barbara; grandsons, Jason and wife, Emily and Benjamin and Donna. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles, and daughter, Jane. JB and Patricia moved to New Mexico from New York in 1956. JB worked at Sandia National Laboratories for 32 years, retiring in 1988. An avid woodworker, JB built beautiful furniture of hard-rock maple woods. JB also liked to travel. In their recreational vehicles, Pat and JB toured America from the tip of Florida to Fairbanks Alaska, from San Diego to New Brunswick, Canada. JB and Pat joined the Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club in 1999 and soon JB was State Manager of NM's Holiday Rambler clubs. JB and Pat hosted 400 Holiday Ramblers at the 2007 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. JB also enjoyed bass fishing at Lake Powell and was an accomplished photographer. He enjoyed solving problems, was an analytical thinker who many times found a humorous solution to a problem. His unique sense of humor often surprised friends with a new twist on words. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of JB's Life will held Tuesday, February 16, 2016, 2:30 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.
