Janet Diane Webb

Janet Diane Webb passed away peacefully on Aug 31, 2026. She was born and raised in Arthur, IL with her 2 brothers & 1 sister. Her father was a welder and her mother was a nurse's aide. Janet married Emery Edward Prather & had 5 children, moving to New Mexico in 1981 when Emery was stationed at Kirtland AFB. After her divorce, Janet raised her children in Bosque Farms, NM where she had the support of many friends.

She loved her family greatly and often worked multiple jobs to provide for her children. Janet followed in her mother's footsteps as a nurses aide & worked many years at the Los Lunas hospital & training school. She was a force to be reckoned with, having a fiesty personality, a strong will, and a resounding laugh. She loved life and gathering around a table for a meal with family & friends. She also enjoyed gardening, geneology, going to the LDS temple & selflessly caring for her beloved pets, family and friends.

In 2018, she moved into her best friend & youngest son Jerry's home where he & his wife Susie cared for her every need and kept her young at heart. The loss of Janet creates a tremendous void & we'll do our best to fill it with the memories of her laughing, enjoying KFC & a coke. Janet's spirit will live on in our memories & we'll never forget her.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents James & Rose Webb of Garrett, IL, brother James Jr, sister Dolores Norton, her oldest son & daughter Edward & Luann Prather. Janet is survived by her brother Rodney Webb of Mississippi, sons Joseph, Joshua & Jerry Prather, daughters in law Melody, Eleanore & Susie Prather, granddaughters Mychala, Bianca & Mia Prather.

Janet will be buried in Sunset Memorial Park on Menaul in Albuquerque, NM near her daughter. A graveside service will be held on Sep 10 at 1:30pm.
