Janet Bunny Sanchez

Janet Bunny Sanchez, age 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on July 4, 1947, to Earl and Betty Lou Boule.

Bunny graduated in the class of 1965 from Highland High School and attended the University of New Mexico. Bunny married the love of her life, Daniel T. Sanchez, on November 15, 1974. Dan and Bunny celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2024 and were looking forward to many more years together. Bunny loved to work and had successful work experiences as a legal secretary for various law firms, and as an executive secretary at PNM and St. Pius X High School. She retired in 2023 after 18 years of service at SPX. Bunny was a truly talented craftsperson who gained acclaim in spinning and weaving, beading and fiber crafts, and as a master of Origami.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Betty Lou Boule; her uncle, Robert C. Boule; and her brother, Mike Boule. Bunny is survived by her husband, Daniel T. Sanchez; her son, D. Adam Sanchez (Sandra); her daughter, Annin Keiser (Nathan); and five grandchildren, Danica Sanchez, Vaughn Keiser, Kyle Sanchez, Jack Keiser, and William Sanchez.

She loved her family dearly. Bunny was the ultimate Mother and Grandmother sharing and teaching her cooking and arts and crafts skills to her children and grandchildren. She was cherished by her family and loved by her friends and co-workers.

We were all saddened beyond words by her unexpected passing. Cremation has taken place. In compliance with Bunny's instructions, no funeral service is planned, but a private celebration of life reception will occur on March 15, 2026.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the other "families" that cared for and respected Bunny: the Albuquerque Origami Society who presented Bunny with a 1000 peace crane display, and the St. Pius X High School Administration, faculty, and staff. They all helped support her family during her hospitalization and hospice stays.
