Jan's long journey into the darkness Alzheimer's brings ended peacefully on May 5, 2026.
Jan was many things - grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and the love of her husband's life. She was a UNM Kappa girl with Indiana roots, a kidney transplant nurse, downhill skier, Masters swimmer, and Pilates goddess. She loved books, big cities, contemporary arts and crafts, a nice glass of wine, and to the end, great food and music.
Those who knew her best will remember her being straightforward with an inquisitive mind, offbeat sense of humor, and ability to see people and things for what they are while not giving up on what they could be.
Jan leaves behind her husband (Jeff), her son and his wife (Justin and Amanda), grandson (Kai), step-granddaughter (Madison), mother (Jane), brothers (Colin and James), in-laws (Lynnette, Kim/Chris, Jolie/Tom, John/Cassie, Rae/Kent) and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. We're all better for having known her.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Jan's name to an Alzheimer's research charity of your choice.
